A 10-year-old child has tragically died after a head-on crash involving an Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) cruiser east of Perth, Ontario, on December 13. The incident occurred around 4:30 p.m. on Highway 7, between Drummond School Road and Drummond Concession 7.
According to police, an OPP officer was driving a marked patrol vehicle when it collided with an oncoming pickup truck carrying three passengers. The child was airlifted to a regional trauma center but succumbed to injuries the next day. The other two individuals in the truck are in serious condition, while the OPP officer sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
The Lanark County OPP is investigating the crash and is asking for public help. Anyone with relevant information or dashcam footage is urged to come forward.
