Ontario Provincial Police reported roughly 400 crashes across Southwestern Ontario during a 12-hour period of heavy snow starting early Wednesday. Sgt. Ed Sanchuk emphasized that collisions occurred not only on major highways like the 401 and 402 but also in smaller communities, urging drivers to slow down and drive safely.
Among the incidents, a transport truck carrying multiple vehicles overturned on Highway 402 near Glendon Drive, leaving one lane open with slow-moving traffic. Earlier, a tractor-trailer jackknifed on westbound Highway 401 at Wonderland Road, temporarily closing the lanes; no injuries were reported.
