A vehicle collision led to the closure of Highway 17 near Nairn Centre on Friday evening, Ontario Provincial Police reported. The road was shut down between both entrances of Lorne Falls Road just before 7:30 p.m.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene after the crash, which occurred before 7 p.m. Sudbury Fire officials confirmed one person was taken to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
There were no detours provided while the highway remained closed. The road reopened around 10:40 p.m., and OPP confirmed it was clear by 11:43 p.m.
Authorities have not released details on the crash’s cause, the number of vehicles involved, or whether any charges are forthcoming.
