A serious crash on Highway 6 in Arthur closed a section of the road Thursday morning. Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the collision, which occurred around 7 a.m. between Conestoga Street North and Preston Street North.

One driver was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, while the other was arrested.

James Woods, a 25-year-old from Conn, faces multiple charges, including dangerous driving causing bodily harm, impaired operation (alcohol or drugs), failing to remain at the scene, operating while prohibited, and driving without an ignition interlock device. His driver’s license has been suspended for 90 days, and his vehicle was impounded for 45 days.

The highway reopened before noon.
