A collision involving two commercial trucks shut down Highway 6 South near Morriston for several hours on Tuesday.

Ontario Provincial Police were called to the scene near Mountsberg Road shortly before 10 a.m., where a white tanker truck with significant front-end damage had collided with another truck carrying steel plates. The cargo was transferred to a separate flatbed so the damaged trailer could be cleared from the roadway.

Traffic was rerouted during the closure, with southbound vehicles directed to Campbellville Road and northbound drivers sent toward Concession Road 10 West. No injuries were reported.

Police charged the tanker truck driver with careless driving. The damaged trailer was eventually removed using a float, and all lanes reopened just after 3 p.m.
