Ontario Provincial Police are investigating a hit-and-run in Brampton that left a female pedestrian with critical injuries early Thursday morning.
Emergency crews responded around 12:20 a.m. to the northbound Highway 410 off-ramp at Steeles Avenue, where the victim was found after being struck by a vehicle.
She was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries. Investigators believe the vehicle involved is a Jeep Cherokee with likely damage to the front grille, bumper and hood, and are searching for the driver, who fled the scene.
The off-ramp remained closed for several hours before reopening at about 4 a.m.
