Ontario Provincial Police are investigating a fatal house fire in Chapleau Township after one person was discovered dead inside a residence Thursday morning.
Emergency crews, including the Chapleau Fire Department and OPP officers, were called to a home on King Street at approximately 6 a.m. following reports of a fire.
Authorities say one individual was found deceased inside the residence after crews responded to the scene.
Investigators from the OPP forensic identification unit and the Office of the Fire Marshal are continuing to examine the property to determine the cause of the blaze.
Police are asking residents and drivers to stay clear of the King Street area while the investigation remains underway.
