Several residents have been displaced and damage is estimated at roughly $500,000 after a house fire on Longfellow Avenue in Windsor Saturday afternoon.
Windsor Fire and Rescue Services reported that crews were called around 3 p.m. to a home in the 1800-block, where flames had spread into the attic. Police and paramedics also responded, and the public was advised to stay clear of the area.
Firefighters quickly brought the blaze under control, and all occupants had safely evacuated before their arrival. No injuries were reported.
Investigators determined the fire started from an outdoor grill placed too close to a combustible structure, leading to extensive damage that forced the residents from their home.
