A person has been arrested following an alleged impaired driving crash in Windsor late at night.
Police say officers responded shortly after 10 p.m. to a single-vehicle collision on E.C. Row Expressway near Walker Road. The driver, who was travelling westbound, reportedly lost control of the vehicle, which went into a ditch and caught fire.
Firefighters arrived at the scene and quickly put out the flames. While speaking with the driver, officers noticed several signs of impairment, including slurred speech and a strong smell of alcohol.
A 54-year-old man was arrested at the scene and charged with impaired operation of a conveyance and refusing to provide a breath sample.
