A driver is facing charges after a single-vehicle crash in Kitchener early Wednesday that brought down a hydro pole.

Emergency crews were called to the scene near Courtland Avenue East and Shelley Drive around 2:40 a.m. Police say no one was injured in the incident.

According to Waterloo Regional Police, the driver has been charged with impaired operation. The roadway remains closed between Shelley Drive and Siebert Avenue while repairs are underway.

Motorists are advised to steer clear of the area and find alternate routes.
