A 51-year-old man from Atikameksheng First Nation has been charged with impaired driving after police found a vehicle in a ditch Sunday evening.
The incident happened around 6 p.m. on Nora Road within the community. Atikameksheng First Nation Police first came across the vehicle off the roadway and determined the driver was not injured. He was arrested at the scene and taken to an OPP detachment for testing.
The man now faces two impaired driving charges, including operating a vehicle with a blood alcohol level over the legal limit. His driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle was impounded for a week. He has been released and is scheduled to appear in Sudbury court on Jan. 28.
