A routine collision investigation in Orangeville on June 21 led to an impaired driving charge after officers uncovered signs of intoxication during a follow-up visit.

According to OPP, the crash occurred on Marshall Crescent, where the drivers involved had exchanged information before police were notified. By the time officers arrived, one of the motorists had left the scene and returned to a residence in Mono.

After speaking with the complainant, police attended the Mono residence to speak with the other driver. During the interaction, officers observed indicators of impairment and initiated an investigation.

As a result, a 43-year-old man from Pelham was charged with impaired operation.
