A 29-year-old Petawawa man is facing impaired driving charges following a single-vehicle collision on Highway 11 in Marten River over Thanksgiving weekend.
Ontario Provincial Police responded to the crash at approximately 10:30 p.m. on Oct. 18 after a vehicle struck multiple sections of guardrail along the highway.
During their investigation, officers determined the driver had consumed alcohol before the collision. The man was arrested and taken to the North Bay Police Service for further testing.
He was charged with two impaired driving offences, including operating a vehicle with a blood alcohol concentration exceeding 80 milligrams per 100 millilitres of blood.
The driver also received a 90-day licence suspension, and his vehicle was impounded for seven days.
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court in North Bay on Nov. 17.
