A 19-year-old Kitchener man has been charged following a hit-and-run collision in Guelph on Thursday.

Police said a woman driving an SUV was struck from behind on Gordon Street near Wellington Street, but the other driver left the scene. About two hours later, the man attended the Collision Reporting Centre, where officers suspected he had been drinking and conducted sobriety tests that he failed.

He was arrested and charged with impaired driving, dangerous driving and failing to remain at the scene of a collision.
