A 23-year-old Kitchener man is facing multiple charges after an early morning crash in Wellesley.
At approximately 5:10 a.m. on July 10, Waterloo Regional Police spotted a heavily damaged vehicle near the intersection of Kressler Road and Erbsville Road. An investigation determined that the driver of a black Nissan Rogue had lost control, left the roadway, and attempted to continue driving despite the damage.
Police arrested the driver and discovered he was already subject to both a provincial driver’s licence suspension and a Canada-wide driving prohibition.
The accused has been charged with impaired operation, impaired operation with a blood alcohol concentration over the legal limit, dangerous operation, driving while prohibited, two counts of driving while under suspension, and operating a vehicle as a novice driver with a blood alcohol concentration above zero.
No injuries were reported in the collision. The accused was held in custody pending a bail hearing.
