A 39-year-old woman in Windsor is facing multiple charges after allegedly driving impaired and fleeing the scene of a crash on Saturday night. Police responded to a collision near McDougall Street and Giles Boulevard East around 11:30 p.m., where they found one vehicle with rear-end damage. The other driver had reportedly left the scene.
Thanks to witness information, officers soon located the second vehicle as it arrived at a home on Wellington Avenue. The woman was arrested for failing to remain at the scene. Police noted clear signs of impairment, including a strong smell of alcohol. She was taken to headquarters and failed a breathalyzer test.
She has been charged with impaired driving over the legal limit, failing to remain at the scene, and careless driving. No injuries were reported in the incident.
