A 48-year-old worker has died after a workplace incident at a Hamilton waste transfer facility on Monday afternoon.
Emergency crews were called to the site on Strathearne Avenue around 4:20 p.m. after reports that a man had been struck by heavy equipment. He was found with life-threatening injuries and transported to hospital, where he later died.
Police say the incident involved both a commercial vehicle and heavy machinery operating at the facility. The Ministry of Labour and the Office of the Chief Coroner are assisting with the investigation, including a post-mortem examination.
Authorities say the case remains under investigation and no additional details have been released.
