A fire destroyed a farm equipment shed in Clarksburg on Monday morning, leaving nothing in its wake as the owner attempted to control the flames. The fire erupted around 8:30 a.m. at a farm belonging to Goldsmith’s Farm Market and Bakery, located about 10 minutes from the Thornbury market.

Debby Oakley, co-owner of the farm, shared that her father-in-law noticed the fire and tried to extinguish it, but the flames spread too quickly, forcing him to retreat and call emergency services. The smoke from the blaze was visible from the market, making it a difficult scene to watch.

The Blue Mountains Fire Department responded with five trucks and 15 firefighters. Despite the fire’s intensity, they managed to prevent it from reaching nearby greenhouses. However, the equipment shed was completely destroyed. Oakley expressed relief that no one was hurt, though the shed contained vital farm equipment.
