A 74-year-old man from Leamington is facing charges after a crash in Kingsville led to a police investigation.
Officers with Essex County OPP responded on April 8 around 3:50 p.m. to a report of a vehicle in a ditch on Road 2 East near Jasperson Drive. Following a traffic stop connected to the incident, the driver was arrested.
He has been charged with impaired operation involving alcohol and drugs, as well as driving while prohibited under the Criminal Code. Authorities also imposed an immediate 90-day driver’s licence suspension and a 45-day vehicle impoundment.
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Windsor on May 19, 2026, to address the charges.
