A 53-year-old London man is facing multiple charges after a hit-and-run incident on Thursday. Around 5 p.m., police received a report of a collision near Wonderland Road North and Gainsborough Road, where the driver fled the scene. The caller provided the vehicle’s license plate number and description of both the car and the driver.
Officers later located the suspect in his vehicle at a nearby home. As they approached to speak with him, the driver allegedly reversed into the police car, halting only after contact. The suspect then resisted arrest and struck one of the officers.
No injuries were reported. The man has been charged with dangerous driving, impaired driving (exceeding blood drug concentration), and assaulting a peace officer.
