A fatal collision in Bluewater has claimed the lives of a 72-year-old man and his dog.
Ontario Provincial Police were called to the area of London Road and Vanastra Road shortly after 9 p.m. Friday following reports of a pedestrian being struck. When emergency crews arrived, they found the man and his dog had been hit by a pickup truck.
The man died at the scene. His dog suffered severe injuries and was later euthanized.
The pickup truck driver stayed at the scene and was not hurt.
No charges have been announced at this time. London Road, between East Street and Vanastra Road, was temporarily closed but has since reopened. Police continue to investigate what led to the collision.
