A pedestrian was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle in Mississauga’s Cooksville area on Monday afternoon.

Peel Regional Police say the collision occurred around 4:30 p.m. near Mavis Road and Hillcrest Avenue, just north of Dundas Street West. The man was taken to hospital in serious but stable condition.

The driver stayed at the scene following the incident. Police temporarily shut down southbound traffic on Mavis Road between Hillcrest Avenue and Central Parkway West while conducting their investigation, but the roadway has since reopened.
