A 31-year-old man has died after being struck by a vehicle in North York early Sunday morning.

Toronto police were called to Keele Street and Steeles Avenue West shortly before 2 a.m. after receiving reports of a man lying in the roadway near York University.

Police say a 22-year-old man was driving a 2017 Honda Accord northbound on Keele Street when the vehicle struck the pedestrian. The 31-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver remained at the location following the collision. Police have not said whether charges will be laid.

The circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation.
