A 44-year-old man from Kitchener has died following a collision between an e-bike and a GMC pickup truck on Friday night.
Emergency crews responded around 9:45 p.m. to the intersection of Lancaster Street and Guelph Street, where traffic signals control the crossing. The e-bike rider was transported to hospital but later succumbed to his injuries.
Police say the pickup driver, a 38-year-old Kitchener resident, was not hurt in the incident.
The intersection remained closed for several hours as investigators examined the scene and has since reopened. Authorities are still working to determine the cause of the crash and are asking witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.
