A 45-year-old Durham Region man is facing four charges following a hit-and-run collision in Guelph earlier this month.
Guelph Police received a report on Oct. 4 from a driver who said their vehicle was sideswiped by an SUV changing lanes on Clair Road West. The collision caused significant damage to the complainant’s vehicle.
The two drivers initially pulled over and spoke, but the SUV driver left the scene after being told police would be contacted.
Investigators later determined the man was under a driver’s licence suspension and a Criminal Code driving prohibition at the time of the incident.
He was arrested by another police service on Monday and charged with careless driving, failing to stop at an accident, driving while prohibited and driving while suspended.
