A 60-year-old man is fighting for his life after his e-scooter collided with the open door of a parked vehicle in North York early Sunday morning.
Toronto police say the crash occurred around 1:40 a.m. near Driftwood Avenue and Jane Street. The e-scooter rider struck the door of a parked car that had been opened into the roadway.
Paramedics transported the man to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Police say the 22-year-old driver of the vehicle remained at the scene following the collision. Further details about the incident have not been released.
Update – On August 18, police says the 60-year-old man has died from his injuries in the hospital.
