A 63-year-old man from Warkworth, Ontario, has died after a propane explosion inside a residential trailer at Bellmere Winds Golf Resort, east of Peterborough.
The explosion occurred at approximately 3 p.m. on Wednesday at the golf resort near Peterborough County Road 2 and Villiers Line. Emergency crews responded to the scene, and the victim was airlifted to a Toronto-area hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Ontario Provincial Police confirmed the explosion took place inside a trailer located on the property. The cause of the blast remains under investigation.
Multiple agencies are assisting with the investigation, including the Peterborough OPP and the Ontario Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development.
