A 69-year-old man from Tiny Township is facing multiple charges after allegedly driving impaired, crashing his vehicle, and leaving the scene.
Police were called to a business on Tiny Beaches Road North just before 5 p.m. Sunday, where they found a badly damaged vehicle. Witnesses reported two people running from the area and appearing unsteady. Officers later located two pedestrians matching the descriptions and launched an investigation.
The man was charged with impaired driving, driving with over 80 milligrams of alcohol, failing to remain at a crash, and failing to report it. He was released with a future court date, and his vehicle was impounded.
Provincial police are urging drivers to plan ahead and avoid getting behind the wheel while under the influence.
