A 73-year-old man remains in hospital after a dirt bike crash in north Clarington on Friday morning.

Durham Regional Police say the rider was travelling east on the unmaintained section of Boundary Road near Enfield Road around 11 a.m. when he lost control of the bike and veered off the trail, striking a tree.

The man was transported to a Toronto trauma centre with serious injuries and is currently listed in stable condition.

Collision investigators attended the scene to gather evidence, leading to road closures in the surrounding area for several hours.
