Police report that a man has been arrested after fleeing the scene of a crash involving a stolen vehicle in Scugog.
Officers were called to the area of Lake Ridge Road and Regional Highway 47 at about 12:50 a.m. on December 30. Upon arrival, the driver allegedly ran from the scene on foot and was later located hiding in a densely wooded area nearby.
Investigators determined the vehicle involved had been stolen from the Toronto area. Rolando Concepcion, 54, who has no fixed address, was taken into custody and charged with possession of stolen property valued over $5,000, driving while suspended, careless driving, and failing to remain at the scene of a collision.
He was later released on an undertaking.
