A 58-year-old man from Northern Bruce Peninsula is facing impaired driving charges after crashing into a telephone pole. Grey Bruce OPP responded to a single-vehicle collision on Stokes Bay Road around 8:10 p.m. on Monday.

According to police, the driver lost control while trying to avoid a deer and hit a pole. He was not injured. Following the investigation, he was charged with impaired driving and driving with a blood alcohol concentration over the legal limit.

As a result, the driver received a 90-day licence suspension and had his vehicle impounded for seven days. He is scheduled to appear in court in Owen Sound on November 6, 2025.
