A 49-year-old Fort Erie man has died and a child is in hospital with life-threatening injuries following a motorcycle crash in Port Colborne.
The collision happened around 5 p.m. Saturday on Highway 3 near Wilhelm Road. According to the Ontario Provincial Police, the motorcycle was travelling eastbound when it struck the rear of an SUV, ejecting both the driver and passenger.
The motorcycle driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The child, who was riding as a passenger, was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Highway 3 was closed for several hours as investigators examined the scene. The roadway has since reopened.
The investigation remains ongoing.
