A man in his 20s was killed in a two-vehicle collision in Brampton late Saturday night, while several others were injured, including two with critical injuries.
Peel Regional Police responded to the crash at the intersection of McVean Drive and Countryside Drive at approximately 10:44 p.m. The passenger of one vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene, while the driver suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver and three passengers in the second vehicle were transported to hospital. Police said the driver and one passenger sustained life-threatening injuries, another passenger suffered non-life-threatening injuries, and a third was left with life-altering injuries.
Investigators believe one of the vehicles may have entered the intersection against a red light. Alcohol is not considered a factor, and charges are expected as the investigation continues.
Police are asking anyone with information or dashcam footage to come forward. Roads in the area, which were closed during the investigation, have since reopened.
