A workplace accident in Vaughan has claimed the life of a man, authorities say.
Emergency crews were dispatched just after 12:30 p.m. Thursday to Plastic and Paper Sales Inc. on Applewood Crescent, near Highway 7 and Jane Street. According to police, a worker in his 40s became trapped beneath a forklift.
Paramedics pronounced the man dead at the scene. No additional details about the circumstances of the incident were released.
The Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development has confirmed it has been notified and is aware of the fatality.
