A fatal collision in Brampton has left one man dead and a woman with critical injuries.
Peel Regional Police responded Tuesday afternoon around 3:15 p.m. to a crash at Williams Parkway and Airport Road involving an SUV and a transport truck.
The male driver of the SUV was taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His passenger, an adult woman, was airlifted by Ornge to Sunnybrook Hospital with life-threatening injuries and remains in critical condition.
Police say the transport truck driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators. Investigators are still working to determine the cause of the crash, though early witness accounts suggest speed may have played a role.
The intersection remains closed as the investigation continues.
