A fatal crash involving two motorcycles and a minivan occurred Monday night on Highway 20 just west of Maple Street, north of Pelham. Police and emergency crews arrived around 9:10 p.m. and shut down the road overnight while specialists examined the scene.
Investigators determined that a 2008 Chrysler Town & Country attempted a left turn into a driveway while heading westbound, crossing into the path of an eastbound motorcyclist. The impact killed a 30-year-old man from Port Colborne. A second motorcyclist, a 27-year-old woman from West Lincoln, lost control and fell, sustaining minor injuries.
The minivan was driven by a 19-year-old man from Port Colborne, with a 21-year-old woman as a passenger; neither was hurt. Authorities say the investigation is ongoing.
