A fatal collision on Highway 85 in Kitchener claimed the life of a 57-year-old local man early Sunday morning.
Ontario Provincial Police were called to the northbound lanes near Victoria Street North at about 6:50 a.m. after reports that a vehicle had struck a pedestrian. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police closed the northbound express lanes between Ottawa Street North and Wellington Street North while specialized traffic investigators examined the crash site and conducted a reconstruction.
The affected lanes reopened shortly after 11:30 a.m. The investigation is ongoing.
