A pedestrian in his 70s was killed after being hit by a vehicle Thursday evening in Mississauga.
Peel Regional Police responded to reports of a crash near the intersection of Lakeshore Road East and Stavebank Road shortly after 7 p.m. Officers located the injured man at the scene and he was transported to hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
Investigators say the driver stayed at the scene and is cooperating. Early information indicates the man was crossing Lakeshore midblock, heading from north to south, when he was struck. No charges have been filed as the investigation continues.
