A man is in critical, life-threatening condition after being struck by a truck in downtown Toronto on Friday evening.
Police say the incident occurred shortly after 6:30 p.m. near Gould Street, east of Yonge Street. A 38-year-old man was walking behind a business when he was hit by a truck that was reversing into a loading dock. He became pinned by the vehicle and had to be extricated.
The man was taken to hospital with critical injuries. Police say the truck’s driver, a 70-year-old man, remained at the scene. The cause of the incident is under investigation.
