A motorcyclist in his 40s has died following a crash in Scarborough Sunday evening. The collision occurred shortly after 6 p.m. on Orton Park Road, just south of Ellesmere Road, involving a motorcycle and another northbound vehicle.
According to Toronto police, the motorcycle made contact with the vehicle, causing the rider to lose control and strike a tree. Officers and paramedics attempted life-saving measures at the scene, but the man was pronounced dead. The other driver was unharmed and remained on site.
Investigators have not yet determined whether speed was a factor, which remains under review. Police are asking anyone with dashcam or video footage from the area to come forward to assist with the investigation.
