A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in Scarborough on Thursday evening, prompting an investigation that initially involved a hit-and-run.
Toronto police were called just after 5 p.m. to Lawrence Avenue East, west of Scarborough Golf Club Road, for reports of the collision. An adult male was taken to a trauma centre in serious but non-life-threatening condition.
Officers also confirmed the driver fled the scene after the collision but was later found by officers inside an underground parking garage at a nearby Toronto Community Housing property.
The suspect was arrested and is expected to face multiple charges, including failing to stay at the scene of the collision.
