A 57-year-old man was hospitalized with minor injuries after being thrown from a boat on Georgian Bay Thursday afternoon, police say.

Emergency crews responded to the area near Brandy’s Island around 2:15 p.m. after reports of a runaway vessel. According to Southern Georgian Bay OPP, the unmanned boat continued circling in the water after the operator was ejected and eventually struck him.

Muskoka emergency services transported the man to hospital, while members of the Georgian Bay Township Fire Department helped responders bring the uncontrolled vessel to a stop.

Police said no charges have been laid.
