A 32-year-old man is facing multiple charges after a wrong-way collision on Highway 417 in Ottawa late Sunday night. Around 11 p.m., Ontario Provincial Police received several emergency calls about a vehicle traveling westbound in the eastbound lanes near Panmure Road.
The vehicle eventually crashed into another car, resulting in minor injuries to the other driver.
The accused has been charged with impaired driving, dangerous driving, failing to stop at the scene of a crash, driving the wrong way on a divided highway, driving with an invalid permit, and having an open liquor container in the vehicle.
His driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days under provincial regulations.
