A fuel tanker overturned and collided with another vehicle south of New Hamburg, resulting in a diesel spill and minor injuries.
Waterloo Regional Police said the crash occurred around 4:30 p.m. at Walker Road and Oxford-Waterloo Road. The tanker was turning onto Walker Road when its driver lost control, causing the truck to roll onto its side and hit a pickup truck travelling through the area.
Diesel leaked from the overturned tanker and spread across the roadway. The Ministry of the Environment was notified about the spill.
The tanker driver was taken to hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening. The pickup driver suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
Police said the investigation remains ongoing and charges are anticipated.
