Durham police believe a motorcyclist may have suffered a medical episode before crashing, after finding the victim dead on a roadside in Clarington on Tuesday.
At around 1:20 p.m. on July 1, officers discovered a 47-year-old man unresponsive near Concession Road 6 and Vickers Road. Police say the motorcyclist was heading eastbound on Concession Road 6 when his bike veered across the westbound lanes and into a ditch, ejecting him from the motorcycle.
The man had been reported missing earlier that day by his family.
At this time, investigators believe the crash was caused by a medical episode. Anyone with information is urged to contact Det.-Const. Hoevenaars at 905-579-1520, extension 5227.
