A Mississauga man is facing an impaired driving charge after crashing his e-bike in Guelph on Tuesday evening.
According to Guelph police, an officer found the 40-year-old lying on a sidewalk near Gordon Street and Nottingham Street around 9 p.m., where he was being assisted by a passerby after losing control of his e-bike and falling.
During the investigation, the officer observed signs of impairment and detected the smell of alcohol. The man failed a roadside breath test and was arrested. Further breath samples later showed his blood alcohol level exceeded the legal limit.
He has been charged with impaired driving, and his driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days.
