A 30-year-old motorcyclist was critically injured in a hit-and-run crash in Markham.
The collision happened Wednesday at about 6:30 p.m. near Woodbine Avenue and John Street, involving a motorcycle and a transport truck. The rider, a Markham resident, was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Investigators say the truck driver left the scene after the crash. Police have since found the vehicle involved, but no information has been released about the driver or possible charges.
The case is now being handled by the Major Collision Investigation Unit as officers work to determine what led to the incident. Authorities are asking anyone who witnessed the collision or has dash cam footage from the area to contact investigators.
The investigation is continuing.
