A motorcyclist has died after a two-vehicle collision on Eastport Drive beneath the Burlington Skyway Friday afternoon.

Ontario Provincial Police say the crash occurred around 2:08 p.m. Police said the motorcycle was travelling northbound when an SUV heading southbound attempted to turn left onto Beach Boulevard. The vehicles collided during the turn.

The motorcyclist, a 23-year-old Hamilton man, was pronounced dead at the scene. The SUV driver, a 74-year-old Grimsby man, was not injured and remained at the scene to assist with the investigation.

Eastport Drive, along with nearby ramps and connecting roads, was closed for several hours and reopened at approximately 9 p.m.

No charges have been announced. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash is ongoing.
