A 64-year-old motorcyclist sustained serious injuries in a collision Friday at a busy Kitchener intersection. According to Waterloo Regional Police, the incident occurred when the motorcycle was making a left turn onto Union Street and was hit by an oncoming Jeep on Lancaster Street West.

The motorcyclist was transported to a hospital outside the Waterloo Region for treatment, while the 58-year-old Jeep driver was unharmed.

The intersection and the Highway 85 exit to Lancaster Street were temporarily closed for investigation but have since reopened. Police are requesting witnesses or anyone with dash cam footage to come forward.
