A driver has been charged after police say they bypassed a road closure and crashed into a fallen tree in the Stratford area Thursday morning.
The Stratford Police Service responded to Perth Road 113 around 6:30 a.m., where the roadway remained closed following Wednesday night’s severe storm.
According to police, the driver went around a closure sign near Line 26 before striking a tree that had fallen across the road. The crash triggered the vehicle’s airbags and shattered the windshield, but the driver was not injured.
The motorist is facing a charge of driving on a closed roadway.
